Which tire would you recommend?
I just got my Azenis on a few weeks ago...I got a little bored and tried to do a smoke show with the lsd.....the azenis grabbed so hard I couldnt even smoke them....they just grabbed hella hard. My car started to bog down....it was kinda funny....

My BFG's got my axles snapping/clicking after one burnout @ the track.
IMHO they do more damage than good unless your car really needs them (ie pushing more hp than just bolt on's)

I wouldn't choose either of these tires for the track.
For the track, I would choose an R compound tire like the Hoosier R3S04, Toyo RA-1, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup, Yokohama A032R, etc.
However, if you were talking about for a dragstrip, and not the track, then I would choose the drag radials.

I wouldn't suggest R comp's to anyone just starting out on the track.
Anton who is curious to see what the poster meant by "track"? But, could most likely guess.

True, I run 205/50 with A032R, car is for "daily" driving and school track event. I love them, grip grip grip. I do have Azenis on my beater Civic and they grab like hell too. Never try them on my R. May try them when 032R are worn.

Its not the size everything on the car is designed to work with, Honda built the car with the intention that completely stock 195-55-15 made the most sense in all areas. Plus the sidewall buldges and I'm willing to argue that the turn in is crappier compared to a stock-sized tire.
I'm ditching the Azenis (previous owner) which IMO are the wrong size for the car being all stock, in favor for some stock sized tires in two weeks.

You can argue whatever you want. But 205/50/15 Azenis fit the car fine, drive fine and have zero rubbing issues on stock wheels. Yes they are significantly wider than other similarly sized 205/50/15 tires and their steering response reflects that but to say they don't fit is incorrect. Maybe they weren't designed for the car or matched to it or for it but for that matter none of the aftermarket tires available was and that will leave you with the stock sized RE010's which while a great tire are expensive and Not what everyone may want or can afford.
In fact there are people who regularly compete with 225/45/15 r compounds on the stock 6" wide stock wheels. It's a choice that the original poster must make an educated and informed decision on.
I could easily also complain that ANY tire that I have driven on in the R other than the stock RE010's doesn't "feel" right in comparison and I'd be right since every tire I've tried subseqeuntly has had a different feel regardless of compound and or wheel width beit 6 1/2" to 7" wide wheels.
BUT, if you start to mix and match wheel widths and offsets and tire sizes with ANY car, things will change.
An AVS ES 100 in 195/55/15 will fit perfectly but was originally Not included in this guys post and until he responds with his intended application And maybe does a bit more searching, contributing more is a bit moot.
The Azenis fit fine, you must just be forwarned of their handling characteristics and accept the changes that occur when moving to new and different size wheels and or tires.

You stated the above which is your opinion and why many of us emplore others to search and research as much as possible on this topic before making a move or purchase.
I too would rather trade the lighter 'feel" and turn-in for ultimate grip. Other's on the other hand would rather the turn-in and lighter steering "feel". And still others may care to try a 6 1/2" or 7" wide wheel with the 205/50 Azenis with results on par to the stock tires on stock wheels. It's a choice that must be made at some point and time by every R owner.

I dont see why the heck you needed to attack me. He was ASKING for OPINION, that was the whole point. I gave him mine, and never once said they didnt fit, as I have them on my car right now. It was your misreading that led you to believe I said they didnt fit.
He asked for opinion, I gave it, you misread it and attacked me. Just live with it.
Sure if we were talking a 6.5 or 7" wide wheel I'd go with the Azenis for sure, however the stock wheels on an all stock car calls for 195/55/15 not a lower profile and wider tire. I felt I should inform him that they are the inncorrect size according to the manufacturer. I wasnt doing anything wrong, and it was your mistake that you thought I said something I didnt...

) are chitty drag tires. The sidewalls are just too stiff.
