I am trying to put together a custom oil cooler kit. I received all the parts today from UPS. I got a permacool sandwich adapter, a 19 row setrab oil cooler, and some hose ends that screw into adapters. My question is how the heck do you squeezed the hose into the hose end so you can screw it on to the adapters? And after you get the hose into the hose end, what stops it from pulling out? would a hose clamp be better? Thanks for any help you guys may have.

-10AN hose is pretty easy to work with by hand as long as you don't fray the outer steel braid.
I just apply a bit of oil on the inside of the hose-end and squeeze/twist it in. You shouldn't need a vice.
Assemble one of the hose-ends and you'll see why it won't pull out.
There are two styles of nipples - single nipple and double nipple. Double nipple makes a cut into the synthetic rubber hose as you tighten the hose-ends against each other and the single nipple design doesn't...it just slips over the nipple. Double nipple usually seals better, but I'm finding that everything automotive I've used single nipples hose-ends on are just fine with single nipples.

Thanks for the reply. my friend who is a mechanic is going to help me install it. He told me if he can put together an engine, he can assemble hose ends, even if he
's never done it before. I was asking just out of my own curiosity. So as you screw them together, the adapter grabs the hose tighter, right?

The inner nipple piece flares the hose a little and the hose ends up clamped tightly in b/w the two pieces.
If he's never worked with steel braided line before, he's in for a treat, even if it is easier to work with the larger bore AN sizes. I remember my first time....whoo boy...I never pricked myself so many times and gotten so frustrated like that with anything else before (maybe except for homework). That was with -4AN hose tho.
