no power when iturn the car on
about a month ago, I set up my lil cousin's sound system,
deck, amp and sub. and today he came to my house because he wanted me to install my system in his car, because he wanted to buy it.
so I uninstalled his amp to test out my amp on his sub.
and my amp wouldn't turn on. I was checking with the volt meter the whole time. with the wires (4 gauge wire ground and power) form the amp (on the screws actually) it would read 12V, but when I turn the car on, it would go down to about 2-3Volts.
I tried different combination, with his old amp and his old sub and my new sub, still nothing works.
I even tried to install it with a cap
now, all I can think of, is when I turn the car on, something shorts out the ground
but that makes no sense, cause it worked before, and I'm still getting 2-3 volts.
anyways, I really need help with this.
Thanks

your inline fuse on the 4 gauge power wire from the battery may be faulty... ive come across some situations where they are just defective and dont transfer power over properly...
