ok guys .... heres the deal .... i have a 92 hatch cx .... it used to have some sort of sunroof on it .... i dont know if it was factory, or if it was aftermarket .... it was not power it was manual and one day i didnt latch it on correctly and woof .... the glass went flying at about 80mph .....
anyway this was about a year ago and in the mean time i just put a piece of plexiglass up there to keep the water out ....

so heres the deal .. i want to install a eg power sunroof ..... but it looks like it is a bigger size than the old one that was in there .....

but anyway here are my questions for you ( actualy since my dad is doing the work its his questions -- he told me i had to do the research lol )

1. will there need to be any reinforcing of the roof??? or are all the non sunroof roofs designed in the same manner as the ones with sunroof??

and 2.... he mentioned that alot of times most cars with sunroofs have water chanels that run through the roof to the back of the car to drain water, and help from leakage..

he has installed a few before and wanted to know if the lines are in stock hondas, and if he is going to have to install them

so anyone know anything bout putting these sunroofs in???

first off there is a lot more to a power sunroof than that

classic soft trim in wilmington, ma did a power roof for us in a Santa Fe for $899

 

well, i dont know much about sunroofs ... my dad well be putting it in .. hes done a few b4 and this is just 2 of the concers he had ... idk

The stock sunroof does have 4 drains at each corner, I would think the easiest way would be to have the roof section cut out about 1.5inches all the way around the sunroof of a ex car, cut the roof section out of your car, weld the clip in, run the drains like the factory and wala, a factory sunroof cx. I just so happen to have a complete sectioned roof out of a 95 ex, complete with switches, and everything up top. I was going to put it in my s-10, but ended up selling the truck.
