Default 92 hatch POWER SUNROOF installation??????????

ok guys .... heres the deal .... i have a 92 hatch cx .... it used to have some sort of sunroof on it .... i dont know if it was factory, or if it was aftermarket .... it was not power it was manual and one day i didnt latch it on correctly and woof .... the glass went flying at about 80mph .....

anyway this was about a year ago and in the mean time i just put a piece of plexiglass up there to keep the water out ....

so heres the deal .. i want to install a eg power sunroof ..... but it looks like it is a bigger size than the old one that was in there .....

but anyway here are my questions for you ( actualy since my dad is doing the work its his questions -- he told me i had to do the research lol )

1. will there need to be any reinforcing of the roof??? or are all the non sunroof roofs designed in the same manner as the ones with sunroof??

and 2.... he mentioned that alot of times most cars with sunroofs have water chanels that run through the roof to the back of the car to drain water, and help from leakage..

he has installed a few before and wanted to know if the lines are in stock hondas, and if he is going to have to install them

so anyone know anything bout putting these sunroofs in???

thanks guys

Joe

I have pulled out my stock sunroof when I had my car painted. I honestly cant tell you if cars without SR had all the same mounts and drains but I would start by rmoving your headliner and seeing what you have to work wih and see if there are any "studs" where a stock SR would mount. I don't know if you have already purchaseda stock sunroof but make sure you get the whole assembly. The motor and avereything will mount to this and then this should just bolt up if the mounts are there. I wold assume that this will be some work either way. Dunno if that helps but its all I know.

my water tubing drain in the EX ends at the trunk on passenger side, a little before rear brake light, it is capped, so I dont really know what it was supposed to do, unless im supposed to drain it maually when a problem arises...

capped???? u sure its not a valve??? theres suposed to be a valve at the end of it ..... now what im worried about is the way the roof is .... i found out from another site that the edges of the rood in the ex and si are diffrent.... that they have some sort of edges around them that help seal the sunroof... but i have not found a straight answer about what to do about this yet
