I don't know if any of you guys have seen the add in Sport Compact Car or in Superstreet, V W Trends, Turbo its in tons of magazines, it is called the spiralmax and it claims to be able to give up to 35 more horsepower and 30% better gas mileage. Just want to let you know this thing really works. I went up to San Gabriel last week and got two of the units installed and I could tell a huge amount of difference. Alot more horsepower and alot more torque. The unit only cost $70 apiece, and you install it in the CAI it sucks in more air therefore cooling more and bringing more horsepower. well... i have heard some real crappy stuff form that **** that doesnt work... OK..... basic physics... when peeps port and polish, they do it to unrestrict the airflow... so it flows easier and in a straght pattern... so the air enter the last part of the manifold quite smoothly....... the only thing this is gonna do is restrict air... and the flow of air... and how on earth can spiraling air give you 35 hp??? it cant! it is a big waste of money and does nothing... my frined put one on and dynoed his 00 accord and got no gain...he actually lost about 1 hp from it at the lower band of rpm's.....


so in conclusion....it is only mixing up the air and making a big mess of nothin the intake manifold... but if you wanna spend your money on it, more power to you...

I heard the sticker adds an extra 10hp AND 20lbs of torque PLUS it saves you 4mpg it's ALSO air-o-dynamic so your downforce is also improved, NOT TO MENTION the sticker is also a sound deadener so if you have a system all your rattles go away! I was thinking of putting one on one of my many horses down here in TX...I heard it makes them gallop faster....once I get my horse to the dyno I'll let yall know! I don't care if you guys don't believe me, I know that it works on my car. It was endorsed by the editors at street racer magazine, so I guess that it did work for someone. You know what is really funny? I knew a guy who tried this and it actually ******* worked.. I wouldnt say 65hp, but it did increase the HP alot. Not to mention the thing just sounded weird as hell. I say if it works... More power to you!

About the spiralmax, I have honestly never tried one so I cant say they dont make those #'s. But it is just to hard to belive. I think you will be very suprised on the dyno, maybe 2-4hp max.

I do know of a electric supercharger that does work, HP #'s are not incredible, but they are dyno proven, and I have seen one work.

The electric SC thingy doesn't work either...I had long chat with the owner about a year ago and he turned out to be a real dork...trying to give me scientific and technical jargon on how it works, but I saw ight through it....

Excuse me? I had him (the owner) on my discussion list and NOBODY understood this guy because he was talking absolute double-talk rubbish. If he made any kind of sense at all, I, as well as others on my list would have understood him. But he saw our bullshit meter go off the scale and ran off with his tail between his legs.

Second, if you have been on HT as long as I have, you would know that this isn't the first time this POS came up, and everytime it ended as still being a POS with no proof of validity. If YOU can proof that any onf these products actually work with concrete proof (a dyno graph with the part on and off) from a respected and INDEPENDANT garage(not from spiral max or e-s.charger), and post them here, then you will successfully do what no one else (including the owner of both of these so-called quick horsepower companies ) have done...and that is to validate their outstanding and incredible claims.....

 

That POS doent work. It "might" microsopically make a HP gain in an old Dodge or something... but never on a japanese car.. with a well designed intake. Especially not a Honda..Honda's design from factory is the best amoung ALL carmakers. And how can that thing be considered a "supercharger" ?? How can adding something like that be considered Forced Induction? Dont believe the hype and always go by experience... not by what you hear.

 

I have seen dynos on these things...it doesnt really do anythings.

Its a waste of money.
