Building B20/B16 head - Parts compatability questions.
OK. I have been out of the scene for about a year and have forgotten some of my knowledge. I used to have a B18C1 in my GSR (95 obd1). Iツ知 building b20 with a b16 head. My question is what timing belt do I need and what head gasket? Iツ知 assuming I would use a b20 head gasket since the oil passage is now blocked on the head. I also was running ARP head studs on my B18C1. Will I be able to now use those on my B20 set-up? And header? My GSR used to be boosted so I donツ稚 have one. Would I run the DC JDM 4-1 for the OBD1 GSR? What header is going to fit? Thanks in advance.

any header will fit.. you can use the head studs you have
and you will need a gsr/itr pump and timing belt and b20 headgasket..
look into the GE b20 vtec kit .. its pretty complete from headgasket dowel pin .. oil adapter and lines and fittings..you jus tneed to buy water pump and timing belt

B20 timing belt. You need B16 head bolts and you should call South Gate auto electric as he is the master at doing these swaps and stocks all the parts you need for it..South Gate Auto 323-564-5570
i posted this a while back and the motor is already together. you need to run whatever timing belt to match the oil and water pump from what i heard. so yeah, on a stock b20 i guess it would be a b20 timing belt. i have a gsr oil and water pump in there so i am running the p72 belt.

talk about false info, the b16 head studs are too short.. you will need a gsr or the actauly arp headstuds for LS vtec
