Default gurgling noise from exhaust

ok the past few weeks ive had this strange noise coming from the exhaust. Well i dont really have an exhaust, just a 2.5 inch pipe coming off the header. Anyway, its gotten worse. I dont know how to explain it really, it doesnt affect rpm at all, its almost sounds like the engine ate too much chili and has bad gas or something, like its farting almost. and its totally random, its not like a steady gurgle, it will do it a few times, stop, do it once, stop, do it a few more times, etc. Any ideas? I know its probably hard to tell without hearing it.

you are describing "rapping" slight missfire and backfire of a free flowing exhaust.
i love that sound. most of the time that is caused by a slightly rich condition.
dodge tune their mopar ECU for the SRT4 to do the same thing on decell.

i dont think thats it. what you are describing is a backfireing type of noise right? because it does that too. this is something different. almost sounds like the noise a muscle car makes when its idling. It sounds dirty i dont like it.

if the idle is lumpy, check your ignition, sparkplugs and your fuel pressure.
there is absolutely nothing wrong with the sound of a cammed engine.

mine does the same thing, stock cams also. i am thinking i'm running rich though. for me it only happens at low rpms when i'm off the gas. as soon as i get it over 3k and i put the gas down hard it screams like it should. but i'd like to clean up that sound at the low rpms.
