Default What to do first on a 99 accord?

Is there anything I should keep an eye out for on a 99 accord, or is there any free mods, like airbox modifications, to add a little umph? I want to keep it pretty much stock, thinking about getting some 7th gen rims for it, and a CAI, but thats about it. Any advice would be good.

Well, I'm saying off the bat, if I can modify the airbox. For example, i had a 95 cherokee, and in the air inlet tube, there was a conical shaped plastic piece, that cuz the airflow in half. Why it was there, I dont know. I removed it, and definitely felt a better throttle response.

And even that isn't a free lunch, because with more air, comes more fuel!

u can remove ur resonator + throw on a K&N filter to the end of ur intake piping...besidea head work and spray, theres not much else thats gonna make ur car seem stock and give u power (+ the K&N will be a bit louder than stock for sure)

CAI's are relatively quiet compared to short rams though, right?

No, theyre just farther away from you so you can't hear it! A short ram is closer to the driver in the car and a CAI is by the bumper

If you've just picked this up, you may want to run the VIN by a local dealer and see if there are any outstanding recalls on it. My '99 has had two recalls, one for the ignition switch and one for the throttle body screw adjustment (I think that's what the second one was).

Try to read the questions before posting. He said he wants to know if there are any cheap mods he can do, and he has an idea of what he wants.

Do the basic stuff:

CAI or whatever you chose
Exhaust, header
Pulleys

or save up your cash and go turbo
