Pictures from the Sydney Motor Show and my new BABY!!!
Well after months of waiting i finally picked up my R a week or so ago, today the photos have been developed, along with the ones i took at the Sydney Motor Show. Nothing too special about the show but some nice cars in there.
Sorry about the poor quality shots of the photos, we're not professionals, in fact, as far as photography goes, we suck
Here is Lotus:
Nothing too special,
Terrible photos of the RX8, which we've all already seen dozens of times..
Nissan Z
Acouple of Ferraris:
Ohhh baby:

There was a Porche 911 GT2 NEXT to this one... we took the picture of the wrong car
From the AUDI section:
And finally..... heres MY NEW BABY!!!!
I think i need a new camera.
Hope you enjoyed some of those. I don't know why imagestation shrinks the pictures. If you want any of these in higher quality pics emailed... i'm happy to do so.
cheers

Yeah, the car is brand spankin new and it's already dirty. I don't know why the photos don't show the dirt. But they are...

We also get Milano Red actually.

When i went to pick up the car, a Milano Red Type R pulled up next to mine in the services garage whilst the dealer was going through everything with me. I wanted to meet the owner of the other but it was only the services technician in the drivers seat. Oh well.

Very sweet photos...
As a side note... Image Station doesn't shrink your photos. It does display a smaller image to display in your album, but if you click that a new window will open with your image in its original size and resolution...

Thank you
I had no idea,
Although in the end it was probably better this way anyway, considering the original images were over 500k each

Hey Lordastro
Is that an 01 Japanese built and 01 Australian compliance ITR? If it is then it must be January. How come you've just taken delivery of it now, especially as the DC5 is now on sale? My #0131 is 01/01 Japanese built and 02/01 Compliance.

Very good question
But i don't get the "compliance" part of it.
What i do know is that the car came out of the factory Janurary 2001. But arrived in oz at March 2001. Similarly with another black ITR they had, it was built December 2000, (It's a 2000 model) but arrived at our shores afew months later. To be honest with you i don't know what the story is with these 2 cars. The most logical explaination is that maybe they wanted to use it for demonstration. Which is a bad thing for me. The car had done 100 kilometres already. Which means, it's not "brand spankin new".
So the question is, whats it been doing for half a year?? Is there a possibility it was ordered but it fell through? Or is it most likely this car was really a demo model. Still, 100k's isn't bad, but still.... a demo is a demo.
They had the two ITR's, i took the yellow one because it was 2001 and i would not have been able to get the black 00 ITR for a cheaper price. It was a factory runout because the DC5's were already just released and i took the opportunity to get one cheap (i've been waiting for this for over a year). A new DC5 is 49k on road with air conditioning. As were the DC2's before the runout. Mine cost 40k on road with afew extras, it wasn't that great of a deal, but i'm still happy.
They still have the 00 black ITR there, and i heard there are 1 or 2 more across the country.
I hope that answered your question,

There should be an Australian Compliance plate rivetted on the firewall, passengers side I think. It will have a date stamped as to when it complied. If your car was built 01 then it should have an 01 compliance plate, probably February. I bet it came on the same ship as mine.
When I was in the market I could've brought a black ITR at the pre February price rise. It was 01 #0007 and had red Recaros like all the 01's. However it was built in 00 and compliance was 12/00, so technically it was an 01 model built in 00. I was better off getting #0131 (even at $1000 more) as it was an 01 build and besides I wanted black Recaros so only Milano Red would do - I had to wait two weeks for it to arrive!
100km is not bad for a demo. Usually the dealer will get one of their managers to put 1000km on it before they put it on the floor as a demo. You've done well

when it comes tiome to sell, all that matters is what the compliance plate says, coz that is when it was firts brought into country/licensed
if its 01 01 like mine but off the factory in dec 00 its still classified as a 01 car when selling
just look at examples with cars with a long waiting list, mercs etc

We met at the Honda sponsored track day at Wakefield Park this year. I have a Milano Red ITR like rlc and you tried to outbrake me at Turn 1 eh eh. I was one of those crazy ITR drivers hassling all the hairdressers in their S2000s ...
I've also taken the ITR to a HCCNSW supersprint at Oran Park GP, I was almost as quick as in my race car. Unfortunately this activity has taken its toll on the RE010s (stuffed at 14K) so it is being retired from active duty. Then again I might go to the Bathurst Hillclimb in December ....
My race car is mentioned on my signature, Alfetta GT. The car is road registered, but the interior has been stripped and it has all the good bits including a 1.8 race engine with monster cams -
on the street and very loud. I race at all the Sydney circuits, Oran Park, Wakefield Park and Eastern Creek. Last meet was the 6 Hour Relay where HCC also had a team.

may be you sydney guys should organise something and meet us up again in Phillip Island on February and make it into TypeR parade.
I just checked the compliance date, it was complied on March 2001.
The number on the end of the VIN# matches my production # too.
The dealer still has 00-0008 for sale too
black.
It's good to see the number of australians on this forum.
