Who's running a GSR muffler on thier EG hatch?
I have a GSR muffler I wanna put on my EG hatch....but everywhere I go to get it done they say the muffler won't clear the frame....I know I've seen it done before.....everyone says all you have to do is take about 3" off the axle back section and it should be fine, but the stubborn old bastards at the exhaust shops won't even bother trying.
So if you have this setup on your car, could you please enlighten me as to how you got it to work, and if you have any clearance issues, I wanna quiet my noisebag down. Thanks in Advance

I used a Type R muffler on my eg. Its simple you just have the tip cut off and shortened then reweld it back on. The pipping also needs to be modified. I wouldn't do it for a gsr muffler but for the Type r I think its worth it.
What kind of difference is there between an OEM GSR muffler vs. an OEM Civic muffler. I'm just going out on a limb here but it doesn't seem worth it just to say you have a GSR muffler on your hatch.

I want a higher flowing muffler without any ricey noise thats why. I'm only running a SOHC so I figure my #'s won't be hurt much if at all....even if I lost power it would be worth it to me. I couldn't care less what it looks like, it will be flat blacked out regardless. My car is plenty fast for me as is, it just needs to be quiet. As for because its JDM....I don't think so. My car is already as "JDM" as its gonna get....christ I even have JDM tires.
Anyways I will be taking my car into a shop thats willing to experiment as see how it goes from there.

The GSR muffler isn't going to flow any better than your civic muffler. It looks pretty much the same, unless you count that dope polished covering they give for the tip...TIGHT...
How could it possibly be worth it if you lose power? You stupid ******* kids are ridiculous. And yes we know the only reason you want it on your car is because it is from an Integra, regardless of how it affects your car. Leave this one open for flames.

Did it ever occur to you that MAYBE just MAYBE I am not currently running a stock muffler on my car??? I mean **** those OEM civic mufflers are loud eh???
**** this place should be called hater-tech. I have built my EG, EH whatever the **** you wanna call it for the last 5 years, all with my own two hands. 3 motor swaps, disc conversions, countless suspension setups, whole interior swap.....so think twice before you assume we are all "kids" trying to be JDM because its cool. My car was JDM "styled" 4 years ago and I had Riceboys asking me why my "clear corners" looked like there was orange in them.
So I have a noisy aftermarket muffler and got a good deal on a OEM GSR muffler and just wanted some advice on making it fit, if that's alright.
Get off your ******* horse.

go to another muffler shop. it sounds like those guys are anti honda. you know how it is with truckers why would they want to help an import? any muffler shop can make that gsr muffler fit. just cut back or add to the old pipe. good luck with this one.
I'm not going to run an OEM civic muffler for the sole reason that I don't have one....I have a 2001 GSR catback system. I am currently working the graveyard shift at my job so I can't muster any time to go get it taken care of. Hopefully if I go to a shop that deals with more custom work they will be willing to help me out. As for not being able to "figure it out" with my experience, I unfortunately do not have access to the necessary equipment (i.e. welder) to make it happen....if it were a straight bolt on it would have been done a long time ago. The only 2 things I won't do myself are exhaust work and bodywork, and just look at the problems it causes haha

I'm very sure my friend is running a GSR exhaust system on his 94 hatch. everything bolted up(I even helped him bolt it up) except for the b-pipe which needed a section cut out. for the muffler to fit, it'll bolt on, just cut the tip down a bit, it'll stick out like 3 inches.
