Default -wrecked-

hey guys this wasnt a very good weekend for me and all. I wrecked my 96 accord ex i let a friend drive it to his house with me in it. We went back to a party and he gave the keys to someone who i hardly know. Him and another guy hopped in and began to drive. The driver i didnt know this untill after the wreck that he was really drink and had no licinse. So i am yelling at this guy to stop, get out, and not drive. He wouldent stop, we were on this rode where everyone tops there cars out on and stuff. We were going and turned around to go back to this kids house and then we began to go faster. We took a turn at 95 mph and began skidding. I was instantly ejected from the car and the driver was as well. but there was a guy trapped in the back seat and they used the jaws on him. he is currently in a coma. i have a bunch if bruses but no accord anymore . I just thought i would tell you all about my car and all. I am good just worried havent slept or anything for 2 days. Thanks guys let me know if you have a car for sale i might be interested depending on things see ya guys

sorry to hear it dude....thats why i rarely let anyone drive me car (and they only get to take it around my subdivision block).......just be glad ur alive

u might think about a law suit on the driver......if the guy in the coma's family is angry, they can sue both you, your family (if ur under 18) and the driver (as well as ur insurance company)....at least thats how the MI law works

I'm sure the family of the kid in a coma will be pressing charges / sueing everyone.

Better find a good attorney for your family. It will get ugly.

http://www.switchboard.com
search http://www.google.com for "iowa state bar" for attorney's backgrounds/education.

Yur focked. (but not as bad as the ******* driving). Be glad ur alive

Probably could not get them on manslaughter because they did not kill him but i would be weary because that is a dangerous position to be in.

It really depends on how much brain damage there is and what happened to them. but i don't think there are any really % points on how many people pull through

so what you are saying is no matter what i am fucked. Man i am so scared and all for this whole thing i dont know i really didn't do anything wrong so i really cant see how i am going to get into trouble. What will i get sued for alot of money or just my insurence company and stuff. The driver does not have any insurence at all and a cop came by today and says all i might get hit up with is a seatbelt violation. Do you really think that i am going to get sued???? i am fucked then. My neighbor is a attourny and says i really cant be sued for anything or wont be in trouble but i dont know now if i can believe him. If the driver has no insurence or anything does that mean it all come back to me and my family???? I am only 17 so it my parents then but please let me know if you know the correct answer please thanks alot guys drive responsabily

Whoa...chill out. If the cop said all you might get hit for is a seat-belt violation, then go with that and relax.

I live in litigous kalifornia where people don't blame themselves, they blame other people.

But your best bet is to lay out all the "what-if's" and think about them. I understand though when you don't have alot of experience....it's overwhelming.

#1 - though you might've been drunk, you WEREN'T driving so that's the best thing going for you.

#2 - the dumb-*** driver who crashed your car DID NOT have your permission to drive the car. I'd try and recollect each and every person who saw you that nite telling this guy 'don't drive my car'. Your trying to make sure ppl know this guy DIDN'T have your permission to drive and basically took your car and drove it with your OBJECTIONS "i.e. STOP_STOP_STOP ************!!!".

You might ask your attorney nieghbor what would be the best thing to do/prepare for in terms of all this ****. What you want to say to police/any investigators. I.e. what you want to say to the hurt guy's family or attornies if they call or show up. Write this **** down.

Get all your facts straight, get the events straight, get all the people you spoke to down & DON'T INCRIMINATE YOURSELF. Stick to ONE story or say nothing at all.

remember...if you don't know how to answer something it's better to say "no offense but I need to speak to someone before I answer that question". Good luck.
