I'm a newbie to car audio so somebody school me on what im missing

Going to power a 12 inch single sub from 2 channels (bridged) off a JBL PX300.4 (300W into 4 ohms bridged)

Question: Should I worry about the 2 voice coils with my config or should I look for a single voice coil sub?

The other 2 channels are going to my front speakers. (Probably Focal PolyGlass or PolyKevlar 6.5") Rear Speakers are Infinity Kappa Coax powered by my Alpine CDA-9833 HU.

I like clarity and SQ but I also want my lower frequencies to bump. I am also looking for a long lasting sub as I don't want to replace it anytime soon.

Edit: I listen to a lot of Hip Hop Maybe a sub that can play lower frequencies accurately is what I am looking for

i have a w3 now in my hatchback and i love it, it hits hard and is very efficient but the downside is it can only handle 250rms

 

I would go with the 12w3v2. Very good Sq. I also heard good things about the Image Dynamics if u decide not to go with JL. The 12w3v2 is 300 RMS.

 

I would check your amp's crossover, I have a JBL and It wouldn't split frequencies between a sub and highs. If it can I would buy a JL sub, no matter what. I would only be worried about under powering it.

What JBL amp model do you have? I am getting the PX300.4

According to the manual for mine, you just have to set the X-over to Low Pass and adjust the X-over frequency until you don't hear vocals on your sub. Additionally you can set the slope to 24 dB/octave or 12 dB/octave.

I am running a CDA-9833 alpine headunit and it has it's own built in x-overs so I have something to fall back on if the amp x-over messes up.
