my friend has a 92 dx and he accidently cut the wires on his o2 sensor when he was tryin to get it out. what i want to know now is can he reuse the o2 sensor with the wires connected with butt connectors. Or will he need a new 02 sensor. Bassically will cut wires on the o2 sensor mess up the sensor.

 

i had to cut and extend my o2 sensor for my dc header

after i used butt connectors and it works fine.

 

so it worked fine when you reconnected the wires, cuz when he reconnected the wires it threw a check engine light and the car was running really rich, so i know that something will wrong but i know that the wires where connected property andhe never touch the sensor with his hands

it will work. Just make sure that you reconnect the wires correctly. I also had to extend my O2 wires for a DC header...

 

It will work fine if you reconnect the wires.. make sure you connect them correctly.. If you aren't extending them you shouldnt have a problem since you just match up the colors..

The butt connectors could be a problem, Im guessing you didnt crimp them right? The ecu works on low voltage signals so the butt connector could be affecting your connection and throwing off the readings...

When i extended my O2 sensor wires I used sheilded wire for the signal wire and I soldered the connections.. Try soldering the connections and see if it fixes the problem
