Default valve spring test version 2

Well I tried to help ryan @ eibach organize a valve spring test, but he seems to be busy surfing and taking care of the newbs on here.

So I have an arrangement with tom @ portflow to have him test some springs.

I already have some jg & itr springs ready for testing. But I need some more springs.

So here are some springs that I want to have tested:
-Supertech- I might be able to get some direct from ***** @ ST
-Manley, might be able to get some direct or maybe full-race wants to send me some.
-crower
-toda
-jun
-eibach
-rocket motorsports, hopefully gen 1 & 2

I would like to have all the springs sent to me then I will have them sent to tom.
You only have to pay for shipping to me, I will pay for shipping to get the springs back to you.

I do need all the springs at the same time. Its going to be a one day event thing. Could be over multiple days spread out, but I would like to have it just happen once.

Not sure when this will all go down. Just a matter of having everyone send me their springs. I can set a target date for 2 weeks from today.

So something like May 15th, I will have everyones springs in my hand. Then roughly 7-10 days later, you should have your springs back in your possession

Glad to see that you are stepping up to the plate once again Bob.

I wish I could help you out but the RM gen 1 springs I have sitting in my room are going in a customers car in a few weeks.

sorry, guys, can`t get anybody here to commite to the test. we`ve been beyond slammed for the past 10 weeks and it`s not getting any slower! If we were testing standard springs or shocks, I could do it myself. But throwing the spintron into the mix requires a few people here.

good luck!

btw, water is still chilly, I`ll hit the waves in another week or so.

If I can help somehow, let me know.

Give me a call today and well discuss the details

yeah this should be good.

alot of companies claim their springs can handle alot of lift, but with the retainer they are running, it coil binds well below their claimed amount of lift

Some bumpage from the bottom of the second page.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Bob-DC2 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">alot of companies claim their springs can handle alot of lift, but with the retainer they are running, it coil binds well below their claimed amount of lift</TD></TR></TABLE>

Are you going to try and test all the springs you get with their respective retainers?

I would think that would be best.

What criterias will the spring be tested upon and what type of information may we see from the results?

In other words, what are you trying to compare?

Thanks Rob,

Len

Tom is a good guy to run tests-he is pretty unbiased.

u should add KMS springs to the test. they have claimed that their springs match and sometimes exceed the standards of other aftermarket springs.

http://www.honda-performance.com is their website.
give them a call, im sure theyd welcome the chance to just get their name out if nothing else.

also why arent u testing skunk2 springs?

they have a single spring setup that can handle 13.5mm of lift. then they have daily driver setups, n/a, mild turbo, drag turbo, road racing, high compression n/a drag.
