Default BAD GAS MILEAGE

OK its been about a week now that i have had my new exhaust on & i still dont see a better difference in my gas mileage.
right before i put my new wheels on i used to go a whole month on a full tank of gas. just put $15.00 - $18.00 in a month. Then i put my wheels on & i found myself putting $10.00 a week in. Also around the same time i put my new wheels on my exhaust developed a leak(3" hole in resonator).
Many of my fellow H-T members told me that when i get the hole fixed i should see its back to normal.
Well I got a custom bent catback & a new mufler & I still put $10.00 a week in.

What could it be ??
The can still idles under 500rpms like it did ever since i got it.
what else should i try or check ??

Im ready to just put my old wheels back on & sell it.

HELP

spark plugs? spark plug wires? injectors? think of everything you would do to give it a tune up...and do it! if you give it a nice tune it itll increase in gas mileage. and you will be a happy camper.

Has your driving style changed at all now that you have the exhaust? I know that intakes are supposed to get you better milage but we all know that the first month after you installed it you just wanted to hear it.

How much bigger/heavier are your new wheels? The engine has to put out more power to turn the increased rotational mass the same speed as before.

yep could be the wheels...

check http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.htmlto calculate the difference...

and for me i have 17x7.5 inch on 215/45/17 mileage is around 260-280 when light comes on depends on my driving habits... but before i did my tune up i was getting 220-230 and im empty... i changed my rotor/plugs/cap/wires/f-filter/a-filter/cleaned tb/used injector cleaners/timing/pcv valve/new battery...

i think for a over 130k car 260-280 is decent for a 5th gen lx coupe. whats you guys #'s?

i have a 97 ex coupe, and i find that when i use bp premium and with my normal driving habits, driving the **** out of my car, i fill up once a week, so like 20 a week, i get alot better gas milage with regular gas, i dont think anything is wrong with my car, i just drive it really hard, probally why i have had my licence suspended twice, 3 days left on a 3 month suspension, and i get the judges decision on a third ticket this week, so i could loose it for a yr, sucks, DONT SPEED!

I get about 320 miles out of a tank on my 94 LX. It's got 122,000 miles, slightly modded, and it's all city driving.
