Honda S2000 V.S Dodge SRT-4
I'd place my bets on the SRT4.. The horsepower and torque are way more on the SRT4 then the S2000. I've seen some completly stock srt4's running 13.8's on stock tires witch isnt to shabby.

Some more supporting facts from Edmunds.com
2004 SRT4
Curb Weight - 2900 LBS
Crank HP - 230
TRQ - 250 FT LBS
2004 S2000
Curb Weight - 2835 Lbs
Crank Hp - 240
TRQ - 162 Ft Lbs
2001 S2000
Curb Weight - 2809 Lbs
Crank Hp - 240
TRQ - 153 Ft Lbs
--------------------------------------------
I have personaly seen Some dyno runs on a SRT4, Today actually at Import Wars a Stock 04 model Srt4 with just a BOV upgrade and Cold Air Intake made a outstanding 236whp.. I heard the S2000 is good for about 190ish Whp ..
SRT4 is probably going to beat up on the S2000 thats if both drivers are competent and can drive though. Customer at our shop has one that runs 13.9 stock. Oh by the way is this comparsion with the new S2000, because if thats the case I'm not sure because it has more displacement but the same hp rating but more torque now.

This is very true. I don't think Dodge is telling the truth about the SRT's horsepower. Nothing wrong with giving the public more car than they paid for!

gear ratios and powerbands especially come in to play...launching a s2k out of the hole in its sweet spot is very hard but so is keeping boost. from a dig a s2k vs. the SS is always a closer race than a srt4 vs. the SS...but still, their not close enough
i think the s2k will pull up top right at the end. just because how much boost is tappered off the srt during high rpms. driver input will def. come into play
just my .02 might be wrong, might be right

Is anyone going to post factual information or speculation??
I have pulled away hard from a stock SRT when I was stock and that was from a roll.
I ran a 13.7 with just exhaust and I highly doubt I will see an SRT hit that time. The SRT with mods is a whole different story, but stock for stock, it really is no contest... as long as the S2000 driver will actually beat on the car.
SRT4--- Way to magazine race there buddy.
I have 50+ 7k launches on my car and not one single problem with my rear end. Just because you read on the internet, that some guy busted his rear end "launching" the car, doesn't mean it happens to people who know how to launch it.

They can do it, just no one launches them hard. Most people just baby them.

Good stuff. I was just saying that I never have personally saw that time be ran before. Then again, every time I see an s2k at the tracks it being driven by an old man just havin' some funin his new car. Good times. If you dip into the 12's like your sig says I would like to watch it. I am in DE but, I travel every weekend from track to track

In a streetrace the s2000 would probably win.

I would have to say the SRT-4. I have ran up against three SRT's at the track...I pull on everyone of them from the line, all the way to the the last 330', then they finish dead even with me or just behind me. (damn turbo's make up ground quick!)
As for the S2K, I have seen a couple at the track that run low 14's (also seen them not make it off the line due to SNAP!) but I have raced one on the street and had no trouble with it.
So based on my experience with these two cars, and my 13.5 sec. car (street tires) I would have to say the SRT-4!

Driver's race, although the torque advantage would make the SRT easier to launch despite the fact the Neon's a fwd. Very similiar performance numbers.

yeah me too, s2k has some long legs so it can stretch some neck on the top end, down low it lacks. The 2002+ s2k will definitely be faster than the 2000-2001
