Default How many ppl REALLY have the J's intake??

ok, honda-tech is the worst place to hype products and have NO personal expierence with them.......

so i'm wondering who REALLY HAS the j's intake....

I have a 3" aem cai...and i'm wanting rid of it. I'm going with a short ram more than likely...unless i can be convinced to go with a different setup...

Does the J's REALLY offer power gains? Or is just ANOTHER bandwagon....

i hope to be making around 225+whp on pump gas....and I'm wanting something to compliment the needs of my engine.

I've seen it make 17-20whp on Arinx motor over the stock rubber intake arm.

But you already know I know this.

you can't

the j's has a 6" opening, i think, and the good velocity stack ONLY comes in a 3" inlet

I would also like to know what the difference between the real & the fake intake systems are besides the CF material. J's racing actually makes an abs version of their intake also...

I also can't find a J's racing distributor that has decent pricing....

sgT did a little comparison a while back comparing the AEM ITR CAI, the stock intake and J's racing intake...

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=514964

the pictures may not be up, but a good comparison none the less.

actually yes!... my buddy did the same test on his itr (cant find dyno sheet) but aem vs Stock intake (with original filter 30K on it) stock intake owned it.

That was me, after seeing Steve's thread comparing the 3 intakes, i had to test it out myself. I had both the AEM CAI 3", the J's and the Stock ITR box. So off to the dyno i went.

The J's made post power, followed by the Stock ITR box w/ the STOCK filter from 1998 , then lastly was the AEM. The AEM had a horrible graph, and a massvie dip before vtec, i dont remember the exact numbers, but if you search under my name i believe i posted up all the graphs, if not i got all the exact numbers in numerous topics on HT.

The J's is a very nice intake, i love it, one of the better things i bought for my car, and it looks like its one of the better things i bought for Arin's car too

I found a fake J's intake, a kid a few blocks away has been selling one for a few weeks, and ive tried to get in touch with him, to go and pick it up but it never works out. If im not mistaking, the fake J's and the real one have slight differences in the bends and in the diameter.

Once Robert (Rocket) is done w/ my head and im ready to get tuned, I will go prepared with both the real one and the fake one, even if that means i have to go out and buy one. So stay tuned.

Arno

So the J's racing intake DEFINITLY W/ OUT A DOUBT will not fit an EF w/ a B series engine? I was really looking at getting one for my rex but if it won't fit, it won't fit. Is there any possibility you could make it fit one way or another w/ out compromising something critical?

edit - I just realized that your post was a question too, not a statment, I'm tired and retarded, so let me rephrase myself, does any one know, w/ out a doubt if the J's intake will fit an EF, me and devious would like to know

I will be attempting to fit a J's intake in my ITR powered EF. Ordered it a month ago from IPS racing and still waiting. I will post an update when it arrives.
