Default should i get an oil temp gauge?

since my engine build is nearing completion I've been buying random things I feel i'll need...
i have allready purchased a water temp and oil pressure gauge..and where my gauges are mounted i have room for another. So, should i get an oil temp gauge? if not an oil temp gauge, what woudl you suggest for my third gauge. hell, if you think i need an oil temp and ANOTHER then let me know...please give me your opinions, thanks!

oh and if i do get an oil temp, what temp range should i get?

why would i want a tranny temp gauge? i don't have a manual...and that's the only reason to have one

and aftermarket....well...check out an upcoming HCI issue to see my build...should be out in a couple months.

You are wrong, its the opposite...Heat is the biggest killer of Automatic Transmissions and a Temperature Gauge is a great step in preserving your Slushbox...

i dont think anything but oil pressure is needed for NA motors. thats my opinion though.

Another use for the oil temp gauge.

I lost my oil temp sender when I did my gsr swap. I got a new sending unit but did not have a hole put into my oil pan for it. I didn't want to do the crappy t fitting install again so I decided I would wait until I could modify a spare pan. Just for fun I screwed the sending unit into the little hole on the back side of the head near the top on the dirvers side.

It now functions as a cylinder temp gauge. It works well and responds more quicly that an oil temp gauge, at least installed using a t fitting.

Oil temp guages on an N/A car are good for road racing or periods of long high RPM use...oil pressure obviously being the most important on track, but oil temps should be kept below 230, so its nice to keep an eye on things. For a drag car and daily driver, I dont see the point because you aren't giving the engine enough RPM's and heat for long enough of a time for there to be any significant increase in temps.
