question about TYPE R radiator
okay, i bought a so called type r radiator and just wanted to make sure it really is a type r.
here are my questions
1- is the type r radiator suppose to be all alluminum or should i have a black platic peice on top.
2- should there be a lable that says "denso"
3- is a type r radiator thinner than an LS radiator?
the reason i ask is because i think i bought a GSR radiator or a LS radiator. but the radiator i bought looks differnt then my LS radiator.
its black, instead of brown, its thinner, and i also thought the type r radiator was all aluminum.

..radiators are made by Denso. And, you should not have any problem cooling a b18c5 w/ a GSR radiator, as a matter of fact, here is an illustrated install article where someone replaced their b16 DelSol radiator w/ a gsr to cool a eg b18c5 hybrid. And, since the upper supports dont hold any load, what material they are made of isn't very critical, however the oem pieces are rather heavy, relativly, and Spoon offers a "lightweight" replacement, if it means that much to you! Just make sure its a nice pliable metal..

I broke two acura radiators that were I guess bad. Acura gave me a hard time about warrantying tha part but they did anyway. Replaced it with a Fluidyne and haven't had a problem since.
