Got new Subzeros, but.....
no.
you dont NEED them.
but they are helpful.
I have been running my rota circuit 8's for almost a year now without hubcentric rings, and there are no problems.

I just discussed this on IM, and think we all could benefit from the discussion..
Thanks Owen
(8:50 PM 11/2/2001) Chris: really?...hubcentric rings are for what actually...if you dont need them, then why make them? just curious
(8:53 PM 11/2/2001) owen_the_soyboy: they remove load (stress) from the lugnuts.
with rings in place occupying the gap between hub ring and wheel center, the lugs simply hold the wheel against the hub.
otherwise the lugnuts have to handle the rotating stresses of the hub against the wheel. reallly its no issue with a 16 or 15 inch wheel. when you get over 16 inches you are pushing the limits of stress handling on the lugnuts without hubcentric rings.
HTH
(8:54 PM 11/2/2001) Chris: thats what I thought....I just think its a little more important though. Thanks man.
(8:54 PM 11/2/2001) owen_the_soyboy: how so?
(8:56 PM 11/2/2001) Chris: stress on that axis (shear) could not be too good for long term. Especially if the balance is not "perfect" the vibration at high speed (even if ever so slight) would not help either... *shrugs*
(9:00 PM 11/2/2001) owen_the_soyboy: tough to imagine shear posing a problem without SERIOUS use, and almost abuse.
and long term issues may be a loooong term, like over a few years, maybe more? the oem lug studs are beefy enough to handle this predicament.
but I offered my opinion on the idea that you would be able to run your wheels without rings for quite some time without any ill effects. and of course if this is your permanent, long term setup, it is obviously in your best interests to get some aluminum hubcentric rings, since they are only $15 or so.
(9:02 PM 11/2/2001) Chris: hehe Thanks for the discussion, you have very valid points. Mind if I post this in that thread so the info can be shared with all...

I know aLmoSt-vtec on this board bought subzeros from Walee at machiii.net
he ordered some aluminum hubcentric rings, they were only like $15 shipped, I think... but it did take 4-5 weeks for him to get them after his wheels arrived (wheels came in about a week).
tire rack also can help you out I believe.
brands? I dunno, its a pretty basic machined piece of metal or plastic, so no big companies advertise them... its kind of a basic adapter thingie that some tire shops stock, but most order them up for your specific app.
~and get 4 rings if you go to the bother of buying any at all.
