98 Accord: Should I turbo?
Hey guys, Im a noob (1st post WOO) so dont flame me too much.
Here's the problem, my family owns a 98 LX 4-cylinder (manual) and are thinking of giving to me for college. My question is, with 120k miles on the odo, is it safe to turbo? I only want 6-8 psi (just to wake the car up a little bit), but ive heard horror stories about stuff going boom on higher-mileage engines. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me on the subject.

stop guessing, you could blew a brand new motor up if you dont know what you doing.
Do a compression test and leak down test, how should we know how good is your motor? odo dont tell me how you been driving your car, it just a simple mileage counter.

Agreed, get on in the FI forum and find out what you need to do to boost this baby. Could go with a pre fabbed kit or go custom like myself. Find a friend or something with a turbo vehicle and every time he yanks a stock piece ask for it at a low price. IMO this is the cheapest and easiest way to go turbo. Just make sure it is tuned correctly when all is done. Also, find a good muffler shop or something to do your piping right. good luck

Thanks for the help, guys.
A mechanic friend of my dad's is going to do a full checkup on the engine in a month, and knows a good turbo guy who lives an hour or so away. So, if fundage permits, I should be boosted by the end of June.
