ok, some confusing stuff that i need someone to clear up, then tech question
i see everyone talking about hatches and referring to them as ef's or ef9's, mine is ed7, i thought the ef's were stricktly the overseas models (japan), so is mine an ed or an ef? is a 90 civic hatch si (made in japan vin code), pgm-fi (4 injectors), d16a6 motor.... so with that out of the way and hopefully answered soon, i need to find a place to purchase valve guides and valve guide seals from, my head and internals are good besides the valve guide seals. and last question, when i am driving normally, my car shifts ok, with noticable clutch problems (like it just doesnt feel like it engages fully, but no grind here, obviously needs replaced) but when i am racing, everytime i shift out of first, into 2nd, 3rd, or 4th, i get a grind, ive tried shifting all kinds of different ways, but if the rpm's are above 3 grand it will grind regardless, but it hooks up nice, i can chirp the tires in third (i dont make this a habit, i was just trying to figure out what was wrong).... is this all because of the clutch, or does my trans need rebuilt or replaced? what are the recommendations for this? i can get a perfect used trans and stock clutch for $100, or buy a clutch for mine for a little more if nothing is wrong with it... anyone else had these symptoms? if you are able to give a good long explantation of this, please email it to me at ccrashxburn@aol.com,ill get it faster and easier for me to print out and reference to.
