pro = you own it

con = you might sell it

otherwise all other "oppionions" are incosequential when compared to your personal taste

Pro - The seats are very confortable, Dont gotta worry bout a back seat driver, and like any civic, great gas mileage. Summer time is great with the top off.

Con - Only 2 seats, Horrible passenger leg room, sucks in the snow, very heavy for its size @ 2300 lbs

It is your car, ur the one driving it.

Andy - who sold his POS del for a hatch

No!! Go back to Nissans. You are going to find out it will take MUCH more to make your Honda do anything like your Nissans, and even then, it wont be as much fun to drive.

i own one and i say keep it, atleast for summer. like said above, having a car w/ a removable roof during the summer is definately a plus. plus w/ gas prices on the rise keepin the sol around would be a wise choise.

I love those hatches but to be honest I've seen 1200 million of those lately like Honda started selling them like that. Hell I've even had one cept it was PY

On the other hand with the top down on a sunny cali evening like tonight I can be up at the ridge having a blast, not giving a ride to 50 of my busta friends

to each his own

I dont see too many hatchies in MN...so they are still cool to see. Sols on the other hand are very common.

i have a 99 EK hatch... even though i enjoy the practicality and having more room w/ the hatch. i do miss my Sol a bit. i'd still have it if i didn't turn headon into a minivan.

how tall are your passengers?????? all mine have tons of leg room. del sols arent like s2000's or miata's, they are actually pretty roomy inside for their size.

IMHO they have the same potential as any eg/ek with more unique styling...I hear bad things about the weight and the top leaking though...

3 different friends of mine all said the same thing, one is 5'5, one is 6'0 and one is 6'3. I guess it just feels like less room because of the arm rest in the del and the lack of one in my civic. I personally like the cockpit of the del over the hatch, but my del was very beat up and it was seeing its last bit of road.

Since when was a sol more common than a hatch? You do realize sols were sold only from 93-97 with 96-97 not having the auxiliary lights.

Hatches are way more common than sols... why the hell do you think sols get very lil support from companies making aftermarket parts--i.e. you dont see no black headlight housing, you dont see a grip of aftermarket wings or bills for the sols... Hatches are much more common than the sol...

To the original poster, each is their own. If you are thinking of buying another honda, I say try driving another honda and you'll know the reason why are quite a few solers who will sell their sol and then get another one... great seats, drives nicely, gotta love the shifter, B16 stock (besides the 99-00 Si's), and you gotta love going up to a girl in a sol and telling her "wanna go topless for me?"

I have owned a del sol B16a3 for about a year now and will NEVER sell it...Heck I had a son shortly after and I just work an extra couple hours to be able to pay the car payment off...which aint that bad. I support both me, my wife, and son with my job alone though since my wife isnt work.

Anyways the del sol is my favorite of all hondas common now its a hard top convertible you can get for around 4-5 grand tops which has great potential. I am currently building my del sol to run in the Turbo 4 class in the NDRA. From what I have seen I will be the only competitive sol running in that class.

Also leg room is PERFECT my wife is 6 foot 1 and has very long legs and she loves the car to death and she doesnt know how to drive stick so shes been in the passenger side only.

I like the fact that it shares the same chassis as the EG civic and the DC integra. If you need a mechanical or suspension part, for the most part you have 3 different cars to choose from. For instance if you need a new LCA, you have 93-97 sol, 92-95 civics and 94-01 integras to choose from.

You can make them look hella good, there is aftermarket support(like any Honda), and they are 1 of 2 USDM cars to be offered with a B16.
