drivetrain help? Think i blew my diff or is it my clutch....
the tranny is an ITR with LSD... Goes into gear, but won't move just revs when the clutch is released... Speedo doesn't go up when revved... With the car jacked up and the tranny in neutral, only one tire spins if i move one by hand... If i spin a tire with the car in gear the other tire spins the opposite way... Somebody please help, i wanna know if i should buy a new diff before i start working on it....
Sounds like you busted your diff or maybe lsd... but if you rev the car up really high and it wont move at all its probably diff...

You think its my diff??? hmmm.. i was actually thinking it was the lsd... And another thing, I apreciate u trying to help out, but u SHOULDN'T be giving tech help if you think a tranny has a diff and an LSD.... Just in case u don't know, an LSD unit is a differential...

You tell me im wrong but actually im not... lsd's are usually clutch packs installed INSIDE your differential... i took apart a trany with a phantom grip and that's how it is setup... diff cause power tranfer to the wheels... lsd just causes both wheels to spin at the same time... you can have a tranny without an lsd but not a dif...
again thats with aftermarket.. i havent taken apart a stock honda lsd tranny... but i have learned from different manufactors on stock trannys w/ lsd (not honda however)... just telling you from my experience...

So your saying LSD's (Limited Slip Differentials) are differentials installed inside a differential... OK... I know what your talking about, but when u put the Phanton Grip inside the differential, it makes the differential an LSD unit... The phanton grip by itself is not a complete Limited Slip Differential...
