Default suspension setup question...for people who know, no noobs

ok, i have these shitty suspension pieces on my car right now, and they are totally awful, i have asjustable Koni's which are the only good things, but the coil-overs i have on the car are terrible, which is a big problem for me, they dont have any ride at all, you can feel the bump in your teeth, and thats the slightest thing, so i dont know, but please, i want opinions on this suspension setup that ive been eyeing, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...&rd=1

what do you think? do you think these will improve the ride a lot? the old coilovers i have are HP racing and probably cost 100 bucks, even lowering springs that arent as functional cost two to three times more than what i have, well, for those people who know what they're talking about, please get back to me, thanks.

Since you have the koni's already, you should just purchase a set of H&R's for like 200 something save you a hell of alot of $ using 600 for those apexi's, but yet it all depends on what type of ride you want, what you are using it for.

but for my friends 5th gen, the h&r worked the best for him (regular street driving).
he had some ebay dropzone coilovers, and then he went h&r. (big difference)

so h&r's get my vote.

I went from stock to a set of used H&R springs and I honestly have not had any problems with them. They are a really nice ride even on my stock shocks. I would recommend H&R... You could probably pick a set up out of the classifieds for about $100-$150

if you only do street driving and no autox, then get some regular springs like h&r, eibach, neuspeed, etc....

if you autox, then coilover suspension is what u need. with the high spring rates of coilovers, you will feel every bump on the road.

ive got sportlines on my kyb agx's and the ride is great. if you do autocross all you need is springs and adjustable struts. coilovers are great for just lowering and lifting which when you lower the car it does help but not as much as a stiffer strut would. you already have adjustable struts so you should consider getting some springs. find a spring that sounds good to you (def name brand) and find out what it will lower your car to and then bam. you shoulkd be perfect for street and autoX. good luck on ur decision

ok, this is what ive come up with, i am planning on using some H&R sport lowering springs, they bring the car down about 1.6 in the front and 1.5 in the back, so that should work? everyone in agreeance? or perhaps eibach? I live in NJ and the roads here are notoriously terrible...

ok, guys, i want to get either H&R or eibach, but with the custom spring rates, i want the best possible ride, and also handling, im not autocrossing, so i dont need handling on rails, and i have a full sway bar and strut bar setup up and down the car, i want the best possible ride first and foremost, i live in Jersey and with 18 inch wheels its the worst, one pothole and you get a toothache...so yea, with these spring rates, being custom, if i wanted the best possible ride, what spring rate would you recommend?

well if it's for a daily driver I would just go with hnr sport springs..mild drop and good ride..also the spring rates are low enough not to make you go crazy..

custom spring rates are really only necessary if you plan on racing alot and need the higher rates in back to help cope with understeer

if you're going with sport springs, I recomend the hnr sport because these springs won't sag overtime like other springs..

I upgraded from stock to h&r sport springs (92 accord lx), and you really do get what you pay for. I did not lose ride quality, but I got a stiffer spring rate, and the drop I was looking for. They are great with my tokicos too.....

Go with H&R, they are a good german spring......

i just got apex'i ws coilovers on my 6th gen. they're pretty good. i little stiffer than stock, and you can feel the bumps more during freeway driving, but all that's expected when lowering your car. i'd go with the h&r's since you already have good struts.
only thing i don't like about springs is that you can't adjust the height. you never know what the drop will look like until they're installed. like my last car, i wasn't really satisfied with the drop and i ended up changing springs to go lower.

Call up Ground Control and tell them what you just typed above and be happy.

its those 18 inch rims that are making your car ride like a brick.

lol, its a shame, i love my 18 inch wheels! i want to try out the spring setup, and it that works out better for me then i'll leave it as it is, and if the ride is still deadly i'll gets some 17 inch wheels, they arent expensive so that works, thanks guys!
