Default Help ... question about ITR gearing.

I just recently upgraded my GSR tranny for a Dol Sol tranny (same gearing as ITR). However, I have the assumption that I might have got a GSR tranny.

What are the max spends at 8k for ITR tranny?

With my new tranny (ITR), 2nd goes to 60 and 3rd goes to 90. Which is what a GSR tranny can do.

Also, at 80 in 5th gear, I'm reving at 4k.

However, the weird thing is - when I shift at 8k the revs drop to 6500. Which is what an ITR tranny does.

Another thing that's VERY werid, when I shift (8k) from 1st to 2nd the revs drop to 6k. But with the higher gears, the revs falls to around 6500.

However, my car is faster since the new tranny is installed. A lot faster.

VERY confusing. There's so many factors that make this new tranny a GSR one ... but there's a lot factors that make it a Dol Sol one too.

I'm now starting to think that is has a different FD than an ITR. Like 4.2 or something. I don't know.

Can someone help me solve this mystery ....

am I correct in assuming it's from a VTEC Del Sol? I don't have the specific gearing on the Sol, but I'll try and found out some info for you if I can

BTW, at 80 MPH, i'm at like 4500 RPM's...

I know ... with ITR at 80 it's 4500.

I also have a 9 pound flywheel. But, still ... when I'm at an indicated 80 - I'm reving at an indicated 4k.

I have similar mph/rpms in the lower gears, but maybe they have a different 4th and 5th gear..say ITR 1-3 and GSR 4-5....possibility of a 4.785 FD in there???? that could be the answer to the quicker acceleration, but the lower rpms due to a GSR 5th???

possibility...who'd you get it from? shop? person? and are they a responsible source?

for GSR, 80 mph is right on the 4000 RPM mark.

Got it from a friend. Pretty much just a clean swap.

I the lower gears with my tranny are the same as my old GSR tranny. 2nd and 3rd gear are 60 and 90 repectively. What can you guys hit in 3rd?

Could it be a GSR w/ 4.7 FD?
