help w/ oil leak
hi, my g/f's 96 integra ls (my old car) seems to be leaking oil. i havent gotten a chance to take a look at it, but she took it to some guy today and he told her that it is "leaking oil from the cam shaft". he also told her she needs a new cam. the car has about 140k on it. i didnt know that the cam shaft could even leak oil, i thought it would just be a problem w/ the valves or something. is this guy trying to rip her off? any suggestions are appreciated, thanks.

Tell her to take the car to someone who knows what the f#$%k they are doing. It is most likely the cam end plug, which is $7 for the plug and takes 10 - 15 mins to change properly.

pardon the ignorance, but when u say the "cam end plug", what are u talking about willis? im def. gonna try that when i take her car tomorrow and c whats up w/ it...for 7 bucks, it cant hurt rite? thanks.
cam plug, on the left side of the engine in front of the dizzy. black hard rubber circle plug. get an aluminum cam plug and never think about it again. you should also change the valve cover gasket and use some hondabond when you reseal the valve cover.
Most likely the exhaust cam seal. Black circular rubber plug on the distributor side of the head. It's pretty common with honda motors. Take a few pics so we can see if there's anything else that it could be.
