Installation complete: S/T Swaybar installation on 92-95 Civic HB w/o oem bars
I have completed my S/T front and rear swaybar installation on my 95 HB, it orginally did not have oem bars on it. I ordered the kit from summit racing.
Installation was quite easy. But had problems with the rear installation due to bolts were so rusted to the stupid lower control arm shock bushings. Which i ended up breaking both bolts, and had to get the bushings pressed out, but instead of doing only the shock bushings, i ordered energy suspension master bushing kit, got it the following week, and got all bushings on both rear lca removed. Installed the new bushings on, and installed the swaybars, along with 2 new KYB AGX shocks for rear only.
All i got to say going from no swaybar to hi performance swaybars, that car handles so much better. Now i can take my favorite exit loop at approx 63mph without a slight slip of either tires. While without swaybars, the front tires would skid all the way around the same exit loop at approx 50 mph.
There is a huge empty parking lot formerly owned by Eastman Kodak here in Rochester, at Rochester Tech Park, where i do alot of my testing at. I decided to see how much the rearend can grip. I started to go in straight line at approx 35mph did a nice large right turn then immediately went left, and again back right, the rear end will break out if done properly. Its kinda hard to explain. but i now can do salomon much faster than before.
body roll, its much better than before, but of course not eliminated. it stays much more close to level at tight turns.
Curves, turns, tight turns, steering responsiveness is greatly improved. from 0-10 in rating i give this mod a 10 for those who do not have swaybars.
For installation, all you need is basic tools, jack and jack stands, WD40, drill (for rear installation, which is a simple drill) and possiblity a hydraulic press for those who have rusted bolts. Please read the instructions supplied with the swaybar kit before going ahead with the installation.
Front installation, the end links hook up to a bracket which mounts to the lca, and the swaybar mounts are mounted to the front rear crossmember, which you remove 2 bolts and use the supplied bolts, they are 17mm heads with 12 or 14 mm bolt size which are the bolt that are the closest to the rear. make sure you mount the swaybars on proper side, because the middle of the bar, it has bends to clear the catylic convertor. To install the endlinks, you will need to compress the suspension, both sides, so then the bolt will extend out enough for the nut to be installed.
Rear installation, aside with the rusted bolts breaking, as if it came out easy, it would've been a easy task. All you need to do is take bolt off for shocks and rotate the shock 180 degree, so that then the nut on the shock is now facing to the rear. then put the supplied bracket on with the orginal bolt. after bracket is mounted, you go ahead and drill a new hole, but first drill the top existing hole which needs to be drilled to make it a bit bigger. after that is done, install the swaybar mounts on to that top hole, then align the mount until it is straight level with the other side mount. Tighten up the bolt/nut on top of mount, recheck the mount to ensure its level with the other mount. after that is done, drill the new hole in the bottom mount hole. I can do it without damaging the mount, but if you cant or are afraid to damage the mount, you can punch a mark. then loosen the top bolt/nut and twist the mount and tighten the bolt/nut, (or remove the mount) and drill the new hole. Recheck to see if the holes are properly aligned and done right.
now after the new holes are made, take off the mount, place it on the swaybars along with the supplied grease. then mount the bars on. but remember, you have to put the end of the swaybars above the lca and between the shock and hub because if its rested on the ground as you bolt on the mounts, it will not clear out to the top of the lca. It always help to have another person help you to make it easier, but not required.
after the mounts are mounted on to the frame, go ahead and install the endlinks to the bracket on the shock. and tighten the endlinks nicely, not too tight where the bushings are smashed.
now there ta da your done! now you can go ahead and test drive it and enjoy it, but drive safe!!

try this around mid corner... its a lil trick i like to do when going into a sharp turn or 90 degree and you just need that little push in the rear to rotate. it takes a little practice. go into the turn, once mid turn... let off the gas for a second then romp back on it to straighten out.

sounds nice. I'd like to see pics of the rear setup

Great write up
I've had the same setup for years now and love it. The only thing I hate about it though is the difference between the front sway for the civic is different than the Integra when ordered in the set. For you H22/Civic owners, you have to re-route your exhaust to clear the front sway bar

thanks all for the comments, i should have pictures up sometimes next week, im just so busy with school, and working at theater at nights..
but yea it seems like it will hit the road if i hit a speed bump, but i havent hit anything, i hit a speed bump too fast by accident, and it didnt touch at all. i watched my scca video, and i can obivously see my front swaybars lol.. honestly, i dont think it will ever hit anything, unless im really really low, and go over big rocks, uneven surfaces. etc.. but im not saying that it is impossible to hit the bars.

this is my rear bar (S-T as well).

I got the front bar, but I dont have the pieces to mount it.
i need to find them or order them from ST if they sell em seperately.

I just installed my ST swaybar kit with DropZone Coilover sleeves and DZ shocks. What a difference they made. I have my tires tucked alittle so they rub in tight turns. I'll probably raise the car alittle to stop this. But the car turns now without the body roll! It no longer feels like I'm driving a mini-minivan. It feels more like a gocart like my Turbo Miata did. My camber doesn't look bad. I've already ordered a camber kit to correct any problems. Does anyone have a problem with the front swaybar rubbing against the cat? It's really close and I thought I heard a rattle once or twice.
