'92 Accord leaks oil from behind engine by firewall, need help fixing.
I picked up an accord with 157k that runs awesome but it seems to leak oil from right around the oil filter and the oil pan and drips down on the Y in the exhaust. Are there any problems people have with the gasket around the oil pan not sealing properly or any problems with the filter? Anyone have any other ideas on what it might be?
TIA

The oil pressure switch is in that area but the switch usually only leaks through the connector and this is only a small leak. It sounds like something is puking oil. Has the vavle cover recently been removed? Did the gasket slip and tear?
I can't remember if the '92 has the oil cooler ('90 and '91 has it). If it does, it will be behind the oil filter (the oil filter screws to it). There is an o-ring that seals the cooler to the engine block. Clean the area with brake clean and look for the leak behind the cooler. This will usually be a big leak because it seals engine oil pressure. So, if your engine produces 80 psi of oil pressure in the morning, the o-ring will see 80 psi.

It looks like teh gasket around the oil pan might be in bad shape letting oil out and I am going to try to see if there is a problem with the filter sealing up. I'll try to get some pics if I can't fix it so you can see what I mean
. Thanks.
. Thanks.
