Default wiring with b16

i have done a search and i'm still not certain. do i need to take all of the wiring that came on my b16 off or can i just plug the b16 wiring right in? i do have the hasport wiring but to me it seems pointless because the second O2 sensor is already wired up on the b16 harness. why should i go through the trouble of using my Hf harness and add the 4 wires? it worked in japan so why not here?

PS does it matter that i have the PR3? maybe you only need to add the 4 wires if your using the Hf ecu with the stock harness?

confused

alright man. i think you got yourself a little confused.

as far as to what wire harness you will use, that would be your cars wiring harness. i believe you said you had an hf. so use that. the reason why you would want to use the hf harness is because the connectors which connect to the harness which runs in your car are totally different when compared to the b16's harness connectors. if you think adding 4 wires is bad then try to make the small sub harness' so you are able to use the b16a harness. and im not even totally sure that it will work.

but back on topic. so you are using your hf harness, go ahead and put it on the engine and run the extra wires for vtec, and your second o2 sensor, etc. just leave yourself plenty of wire at the end so you don't come up short. its alot easier to put the harness on before hand than fooling with it afterwards. although if you are lazy like me you will do it after you have the engine seated in the engine bay.

as far as japan and the american crx, they are totally two different cars as far as the wiring goes.

and for the ecu. yes use the pr3 ecu, your hf ecu isn't even equiped for vtec so how could your run wires for something that isn't there?

and this is a first gen b16 right? just checking to see if you are running pre obd or obd1. i know you talked about the second o2 (meaning pre obd), but some people order the wrong engine for their car. just double checking so you don't run into something you didn't know about before hand.

you need to take it off - JDM cars are right hand drive, so everything is reversed - the harness plugs in on opposite sides from USDM
