Default OIL LEAK!

I had a leak from my oil pan gasket so i changed the oil pan gasket, but its still dripping oil. Oil is dripping from some of the bolts on the oil pan. I installed it correctly and didnt use any additional sealants. Any cluw why its still dripping oil?

if you tighten the bolts too much or possibly out of sequence the gasket will flare out. oil pan gaskets are tricky

Sometimes this happens as a result of improper bolt torque. I've always used an additional layer of silicone when replacing an oil pan gasket just to be sure that there will be no leaks.

I think i may have over torqued a bolt or two, oil is only forming on one bolt that i know of.

torqe the bolts in steps.. like cut the spec torque in 1/4's and torque each in 1/4 of the spec torque.. you get what i'm sayin? this will reduce the chances of warpage

This is what i did as i was bolting on the oil pan:

1. Replace each bolt to support oil pan for torqueing (did not torque and at this point)
2. Began torque from the center of the oil pan in an X pattern.

Does this sound right? I almost positive i may have overtorqued the bolt that has the oil formation on the bolt.

possibly.. what kind of torque wrench are you using? how new is it? it may need a calibration. just torque in steps. it'll take longer but will benifite in the long run.
