Another ECU code I need deciphered...
OK...problem #28 with my new 1990 Civic LX. Today I go to start the car and it won't start, the engine was full operating temperature and had already started many times previous. The engine cranks but won't turn over, like its out of gas. I check the ECU and....
one flash...pause...one flash...pause...sixteen flashes...and repeats that sequence.
It did eventually start after a few minutes and didn't do it again all day.

Sounds like you have a bad main relay. It controls the fuel pump. When its hot out the original relays sort of seperate because they have crappy solder jobs. Its a common problem with Hondas.
CODE 1 is ur Oxygen sensor... but don't worry about that one.. get the 16 fixed...
thats ur FUEL INJECTORS.. check the connections, sometimes if the plugs aren't connected right you'll get the code.. reset the ecu.. try that too... Code 16 - Fuel Injector
Code 16 is probably the Main Relay, however it could still mean a bad Injector, Resistor Box tho.
Most failures occur, when the weather starts heating-up for the summer...
If the car refuses to start, but "turns over" on a hot day, try opening the doors/windows, and let the interior cool down. "Then try starting again". May not work all the time, but worth a try anyway. Also, would help in troubleshooting the prob, if it does start. Another place to look is the ECT sensor, refer to the above
That **** happened to me when i finished my swap.. and the car was runnin like **** when it started cuz i was still gettin the code..... but i got it fixed.... try that..
oh and next time.. try this page.. they have all the codes and what u need to do.. ... to fix it.

Thank you for that info. and for the link. Now I can stop asking all these tedious ECU code questions!
When I returned the car to the dealership under warranty because it had a bad distributor, they told me they replaced that AND the O2 sensor. Looks like they were full of it on the O2 sensor, jerk-offs.
Don't go to Windham Auto Sales in Derry, N.H., they sold me this lemon. There are many other issues with this car besides these 2 items. I'm expecting the tranny to go on me any day now, for one...

Its not going to flash the same code twice and then the next code....what you just said is obvious your throwing a code 2 and 16.
With your basic symptoms right there Id automatically tell you the main relay is oging out, cant emphasize how many Ive replaced with a crank/no start symptom throwing a code 16.
Once the relay goes bonkers it creates an open in the fuel injector circuit well there isnt a code for the main relay of course alls the ecu see's is the injectors are not being powered.

BTW I dont understand why or how are cars can throw a code 2. We dont have secondary catalyst 02 sensors.....we have one.....in the manifold, if your running a b16a then you;ll have two or anything usually after obd0 like d-1 and always with d-2.
You should prob. recount your flashes again....or atleast reset the ecu....your code 16 will still come back but it will prob. take care of the "other" code since its prob. in the KAM-Keep alive memory.
