What brake pads for less dust?
I want to get some new pads for the daily driver (97 Civic DX) but I am tired of all those pads that leave that black dust on the rims. They get dirty toooooo quick!
Do any of you guys know for a fact which pads leave the less dust possible? What do you guys recommend as far as pads? Thanks.

My EBC Greenstuffs produced noticeably less dust than OEM and the Comptech MM pads.
However, if you are buying pads based on the dust factor you need to stick you head in a bucket of ice water. They *all* produce dust, and you are going to have to clean it one way or another so get used to it.

Will it affect the rotors if I have been using semi-metallic pads?

I answered your question, and seeing that I am so new here, allow me to spell it out in small ******* words for your veteran *** to understand.
EBC G-R-E-E-N-S-T-U-F-F P-A-D-S produce *LESS* dust. *LESS DUST* as in fewer dust particles than OEM and Comptechs pads.
If you still are confused let me switch it around and say that the OEM and Comptech pads produce MORE dust than the EBC's, which produce *LESS DUST*.
If you think the EBC Greenstuff pads are not suitable because their dust is the wrong shade and to black for you I would suggest wearing a pink colored skirt to make up for the difference.
In fact, if you look at the EBC's site, they are marketed as such.
So, to recap, EBC Greenstuff pads produce *LESS DUST* that OEM pads.

I went to autozone and bought a set of carbon-matallic, it was definitely carbon something LOL. I have cross drilled rotors and the metallic pads were leaving too much brake dust for my likes. The ones I bought from autozone have been much better, stop better and have lasted for a while. They also weren't much more expensive than metallic or semi-metallic pads.

Hmmm, do you know the name of the brand by any chance? The brake pads at my local autozone suck.

That's weird dude my EBC Greenstuffs produced so much dust I seriously thought their whole marketing scheme was a joke....kind of like if they marketed the McLaren as having the best AC in its class.
I run axxis metal masters on the front on my car. I do notice less brake dust compare to my oem pads.
btw I also have bronze rims now and it definitly doesn't show up like silver rim normally does.

^^
I had 99-00 si rims before I had the bronze rims. even then the axxiss metal masters has less brake dust compared to my oem pads. after one week of hard driving: stop & go traffic, canyon runs. there's a very light dusting on the silver rims. it's more noticable after 2 weeks though.
