how to strengthen tranny??
after months of watching everyhting on this board i finally decided to become a memeber and post. I'm planning on getting a b16 and eventually turboing it. and am wonder exactly what everyone is talking about with strengthening the tranny i understand getting a lsd helps alot. but was wondering what else can be done.
Well I don't know of much you can really do to strengthen a Honda tranny. what have you read here on it? I'd like to know cuz I haven't seen anything at all besides a clutch info.
Also I'm not talking about cryogenically treating gears.

The weak link in the tranny in high powered cars seems to be the stock open differential. Upgrading to an aftermarket LSD takes care of that problem.

Yeah - B series is the synchros.

jap B series are known for syncro's
and its been debated all day long (do a search) that jap syncro's can't be ordered or even found in the states. no you can't use 90-93 teg parts.. its completly different. and on a total diff. note, expencive?
LSD's are great.. but after a thousand bucks on parts, and install of a LSD and you can't get 3rd gear anymore? great.
thats why ive always got OE JDM Honda LSD tranny's. after the syncro's dumped, i pulled the diff. and sold it parted out.
my best bet to let the honda tranny work to the best of its abillity is good fluids.
