Hi guys, I just bought this car for less than 4 days smog it and registered and bam the next day it got stolen. I lost many stuff 2 brand new crx si seats, 15" SSR Type C (Gold), roll bar, my sound system eclipse deck, amp, JL 10" w6 subclosure box (installed the day before the car got stolen Bad timing), personal belongin, my tool boxes, and what is funny is that my LS motor b18b w/jdm b16 tranny is untouched tho. But either way no matter what my car looks completely total now.... I'm so pissed off and mad... It was my new project too and here I lose most of my stuff and spend my money on smoggin and register it Damn...... *** you thieves!!!!! :angry: At least leave it for me to be drivable ya bunch of ******!! And bunch of wana b taggers.. Tagging on my car *** you!!!!!!! Even steal my jacket wtf???? All thieves will burn in hell and karma will get ya fukin asses back!!!! :angry:

One question would it be better to buy it back from the tow yard and have my insurance pay me a checked for what is missing and to fix it??? Cuz since my motor is untouched! Or its better to totally lose this project and just totalled it??? If I buy it back I will only get a little money back just to fix for drivable rite?? The insurance won't give me money for the body damages too will it??? It got vandalized and crashed and now holds a Salvage title if I do buy it back.... But if I total it, I will get more money back rite??? Please let me know whats the better route thanks.....

Another thing is that they tagged SED racing on my hood anyone know this crew in San Diego??? Please give me some info please... Thanks..

if it still has the LS motor, id say BUY IT BACK. you'll get it for cheap. just start over, i did with my old 91 hatch, actually finished it off by stripping the rest of the interior and making a gutted 'track' car.

It was stolen somewhere near logan heights area... Somewhere near the cornado bridge... Hmm, the ignition seems to be like the only thing that need to be fix back for drivable goin to cost a lot and the body and the paint isn't flawless anymore... Who knows if I buy it back it will get stolen once more i bet... I was planin to turbo it... Hmmm, so its better to buy it back??? I doubt I will get a lot or enough money for the damages if I do.. I think if I just total it, I would probably get more out of it... Not sure.. Anymore suggestions???

definitely buy it back. This decision will become obvious when you talk to the insurance company. Most likely it'll go something like this:

you: so how much money will I get for the car?
insurance: our records show that car to be worth around $2000 (or whatever the value is according to their computer)
you: what? thats it? what about the modifications I had?
insurance: well, typically we don't cover those things unless they are specifically stated (sometimes you can get them to work with you a little on this, but it depends)
you: ok, well how much will I get if I want to keep the car?
insurance: if you keep the car we'll write you a check for $1500


Also, try to talk them down on the price for the car. I purchased a 92 gsr from a friend after it was totalled (bought it from his insurance co). Originally they wanted $700 for it, but I was able to talk them down to $400. So if you get the right person on the other end of the line you may be able to work out a deal.

Think about it this way:
-if you can buy the car back for $X, could you part it out for that much? or more?
-could you buy the car back for $X, then put the rest of the $$ into getting it back on the road? compare that to getting a couple hundred more dollars and having to buy a whole new car and start from scratch..... usually if you've put enough into the car, and its not completely destroyed its cheaper just to buy it back and fix it up, especially with older cars like ours that the insurance co thinks are worthless.

Thaanks.... I don't thikn cops will do fingerprint... Hmmm, duno never asked them but I doubt they will run fingerprints just for stolen cars.. Theres too many stolen car and they can't just do that to everyone one of them.. But i'l ask tomorrow...

Nah, I don't think so cuz if they had spare key they wouldn't fuked up my ignition to hell.... The cop found it pretty quick in one day after I report it stolen but then its all stripped out except they left the motor untouch pretty weird I would say...
