Default Question about power timing

I have a 96' GS-R. I recently was told by the local dealer that if I adjust my timing the is some free HP there. Is this true and how much. What should the timing be set at for my Zex 55 shot kit this spring. Help me out.

Default Re: Question about power timing (vtec_outlaw)

advancing your timing will net you more hp. advancing your timing will
increase your cylinder temperatures

but when u have nos, its a higher risk of detonation
keep it at stock 16degrees

u adjust timing by turning the distrubutor foward or back
after you have jumped the service connector connectors by the ecu
