b16a1 swap into 89 hf, what else do i need
getting ready to swap a b16a1 out of an 88 integra into my 89 hf. i've got the ecu that came out of the integra, plus the motor mounts form hasport. i'm keeping the tranny because i couldn't afford to buy the one that came with the motor, it was an extra five hundred, and i was told that the motor should bolt up. from what i've read on here and on other sites, im good to go, but i just want to make sure all my homework was correct. god, i hope it was. well, any help would be appreciated. thanks

Did you change your knuckle? If not you need to change it to DX or SI because of the spindles. The HF are to small.
What axles are you using to?
What about the wiring are you staying obd0 or goin obd1? If your goin obd0-1 you need wires for the vtec, knock sensors, oil pressure sensors, 4wire for the o2 sensors.
I dont know if this is right but i'm tired. I'm doing the same thing to my crx hf and i'm still in the process of rebuilding my motor. So Good Luck
Also If i'm wrong someone correct me thanks.

he said something about 'KEEPING HIS TRANNY, HEARD IT WILL BOLT UP"
im thinking its not a B16A1 but its actually a D16A1 from the 88 integra.
i wouldnt waste my time dropping in that 88 teg motor.

If you have a D-series in that integ, ur tranny will not work.

what do you mean about keeping the tranny? if you mean you're going to keep your stock d-series tranny, then it will not bolt up to the b16. you would have to buy a b-series tranny for it to bolt up to the motor. you will also need to wire up 4 injectors because the hf model only has 2. i would also freshen up the motor by changing all the gaskets, changing the water pump, timing belt, spark plugs, thermostat, distributor cap and rotor, and clutch. thats pretty much it.......oh......and dont forget that you need an ls integra throttle cable. peace.
i think the guy is completely just talking about a d16 swap form a 88 integra,
ya that is a waste of time buddy and you didnt need to buy the shift linkage or motor mounts
if you say it was a extra 500 for that d16 tranny i can only imagine how much the d16a1 costs, im laughing my *** off at the thought and feel sorry for you at the same time

WORD.
dude, i got some parts to wake up that HF, if youre on a budget.
SI tranny, SI head.... and then just build a DIY turbo with your HF manifold and block.
