Default S2K Antenna DIY on the 5th gen

I know I know--it needs to be in the Appearance/Cosmetic area, but I figured it would benefit more here until it gets moved. I want to thank SearchBeforeUPost--his how to helped tremendously. I had to go about it a little different, and it feels really secure. I am going to put a water-proof sealant around the base of the antenna area for a good hold and seal(not on the finish paint area obviously).

should be pics now--no red xs. Radio reception is pretty good right now, and I still havent made/hooked up the actual antenna wire yet.

Im sure many have done this, but i got tired of my blown motor assembly with the mast in the up position.

I'll take a few today and post them tonight, as well as the parts list. It is primarily the same as the write up that was floating around, but i had to modify my setup just a bit.

for all who are interested: the s2k antenna from a dealership was $20 or so. In ACCORDance with Search's thread----I used a 12" #10-32 threaded rod, washers to fit the rod(one large like in his pics), nuts to fit the rod as well. I ended up removing the antenna bolt and used a tee nut or equivelant(basically need something that the rod and antenna can both screw into). I used the piece that looks like the PVC from the old antenna motor assembly--its metal so its more durable. A little tweaking and fitting and some waterproof sealant for a safety precaution and so far so good.

Just a few day time pics for my fellow ******(you know who you are)

Ken, you can see the male piece coming from the black plastic collar around the old antenna mast/motor assembly piece.

hmm maybe the folks in this threat could clear up my confusion. Just got my baby (94 ex 2dr) in november and i had always noticed that i didnt have an antenna (at least on the exterior). The previous owner never mentioned shaving it, and if he did its super clean and you cant even tell. anyone know if my specific model came without an exterior antenna?
