Matching ITR Numbers
My ITR is numbered 01-131 here in Oz. It just happens that my Vin Chassis number (#JHMDC2*********131) and engine number (B18C7****131) match up. Is this a coincidence. I've checked with a few ITRs here and they don't match.
BTW 31 is my lucky number as well as my race number. I ordered my ITR from the dealer sight unseen and it turned up as #131. Lucky

Just checked my post. Should be 01 #0131. Not that Honda Australia sold more than 1000 in a year here.
We only got 00 and 01 number cars here, wonder what the highest numbers are for each?
George, my ITR is a daily driver so no low mileage. Already survived a break in (nothing taken, but door handle damaged), a couple of track days, a hillclimb and 14,000Ks in 8 mths. RE010s are stuffed though.

Canadian ones don't match either.. which is a good thing.. cause then you would be totally **** about it like all of those Chevy guy's...

What enterprising common-sense-possessed individual made this call for the Australian market?
My numbers don't match, but my VIN and Willard's VIN are exactly 1000 off... Mine is something like 1123, and his is 0123
Even better - mine is an '00 and his is '01!
[edit] had them backwards [/edit]

Hey jim, sup.
Just had a closer look at all them numbers on me R tonight.
Mines #01-0120, and my VIN# ends with 120 as well.
hmm... we're seeing a pattern here arn't we? So far it's only been the Australian Type R's from years 00 upwards that have matching numbers. Strange.

the 97 ITR that i got my swap out of was #0075 and that is also my engine #. maybe the earlier cars were #'s matching, and honda got lazy as the years went on. got me.
As I understand it the ITR was introduced here in Oct 99 as a 00 model year. So the early 99 built and complied ITRs would have 00 numbers. I've seen 12/00 built ITRs with 01 numbers so this is consistent. There were only ever 00 and 01 numbered ITRs in Australia.
No doubt if the DC5 ITRs (if we must call them that ...) that we now have were numbered (of course they aren't) then they would already be 02s!

My ITR numbers matched, Vin, badge & engine... when it was alive! lol
