Default how hard is it to replace a starter in a 4th gen?

O.k,
I get REALLY bad starts in the morning.
every start after that is o.k.
I was told by the shop that it is most likley the stareter since it is the OEM from 93.
They wanted to charge me $200 to replace it.
I just looked online and I found the OEM part by Bosch for $60.
Now I'm not sure if the starter is the problem.
i did drop a new battery into it and the starts are still bad in the morning.
Should I pay to get it done or do it my self?
The part looks simple enough.

well dude first u got to make sure that its the starter that don't work. u don't wanna put a new starter and the car won't work again. first u make sure that its the starter then u go and change it.
the starter is on top of the tranny in the left side of the engine.
there are two bolts that conect the starter to the tranny.
u might wanna take off the lift engine mount so u can have more place to work. good luck

be sure to check the battery cable for corrosion inside the shielding, this can cause higher resistance = slow starts.

Well I'm not sure how else to diagnose the problem.
Maybe it's time for a new alt?

i might be wrong here, but to test if its the alternator, turn the car on, and take a voltmeter to the terminals at the battery, and it should be around 12-14volts. if its below that, then its the alternator.
