For all of you who are confused about the ZC vacuum lines...
For a long time I had my purge solenoid valve hose just venting to the atmosphere because I didn't really know what it did it and seemed to have no effect on how the engine ran so I didn't care. Well recently I have been learning more about emissions control systems and I learned that basically the charcole canister collects hydrocarbons from the gas tank. It will store them inside it until the purge solenoid valve opens up to release them. Well I have seen a lot of confused about how that hose should be hooked up and a lot of people say "cap it off" or just leave it alone. Well that hose has to be hooked up to the throttle body somehow so the released HCs will be sent into the engine and be burned up. It is horrible for the environment to have these released right into the atmosphere. So I'm trying to spread this information because it is very simple to hook it up right and is much better for the environment if you do. Not trying to be a big tree hugger but it is the least we can do...

The 2 vacuum hoses from the MAP Sensor and Purge Solenoid Valve (PSV) are to be joined together with a "Y" Connector. You should not leave the hose from the PSV vented to the atmosphere because it's job is to open up to release the trapped hydrocarbons inside the charcole canister into the engine's intake manifold so they can be burned up. If you do not have this system hooked up properly the HCs will be released right into the atmosphere which is horrible for the environment. So do your small part and make sure you hook it up correctly.
