Default New Skunk2 Camber kit... No more mods needed?

Well after getting the wrong camber kit and a bunch of running around, a Skunk2 camber kit arrived today. Well after opening it I noticed something different. Looks like they finaly listened to the consumers and redesigned them:

Looks interesting, tighten from the bottom it looks like? The plate on the top is probaby a good idea, more friction area to prevent slippage and might help prevent bending if you hit the top of the fender well. I havent had any problems with mine, I have the old version and took the necessary precautions.

I thought about putting an aluminum or steel plate like that on the top of mine, but the ball joint sticks up some and it would take some creativity and tools to make a plate that will work right. That looks like a pretty good design. I still dont like how they make that middle piece on the "slot" so skinny, I think they should beef that up some.

Hopefully the lower mount (w/ balljoint on it) doesn't have any threads in it...

No it doesn't. And if it did, they need to fire the monkey that designed it

I'd still rough up the red paint on the rails of the arm with a dremel.

and from the looks of it the arm is exactly the same. so us previous gen owners can replace with the new balljoint setup.

It is a total of 3 pieces. The arm, the ball joint and the top plate. The ball joint and the top plate are held together by 4 allen head bults with lock washers.

Besides slipping, the old design had clearance issue with the shock tower when car is lowered passed a certain point.

Now it looks like the slipping problem is solved (still needs to be proven), but would that extra plate on top further decrease the clearance inside the shock tower?

Ball joint boots are still too small, replace those with some OEM boots. Also makes it a pain to adjust camber on the rack... need to remove the tire to get to those bolts.

I encountered a nasty creak as well, arms were touching the frame at some suspension angles.... scroll down below.
