Default Sleeper.

I'm beginging to really toy with the idea of building a piece of **** sleeper. (Or letting my CRX become one, who knows which comes first.) Can a Honda even be a sleeper anymore? (Okay maybe a stock looking, non lowered four door civic with a stock muffler). I'm begining to look more into a Hyundai or a 323... Anyone got anything to say? (Sorry I'm not so descriptive I'm just toying with some ideas.)

My car is a relative sleeper.

232 WHP on my old setup, and no real external mods besides lowering, some clear corners, and 16" bling wheels... (Clear tails are GONE, thank God)

Peoples opinions of what a sleeper looks like is way off now a days...
In no way does that look like a sleeper.

Agreed.

Nice car, but that's not a sleeper if you ask me.

I think to have a sleeper now you need the following....

-stock ride height
-stock wheels
-big aluminum wing
-stock looking exhaust w/big *** tip
-APC window banner
-driver must wear a crooked visor at all times

then you could really catch people off guard

a good (nice) sleeper would be a mirage i think 92-96 with an eclipse engine 4G63T that would be bad ***

Exactly. And it can't be a mirage, or an older civic, or a k-car, 'cuz what kind of idiot is gonna put money on their 89 civic hatch vs. a mustang unless they've got a badass setup under the hood. the mustang is gonna know something's up when you start flashing cash out the window of your caravan.

the best sleepers are 99+ Civic Si's. Everyone who owns one thinks they're hot ****, and everyone who's raced one has won, so if you show up in one with the mods that LudeEF mentioned (actually, I think slammed on stock shocks/rims is the best, 'cuz ebay lowering springs are real cheap), but have a 10 second motor, you'll clean up.

to have a sleeper is to have a shitty looking car like my old crx, it was falling apart faded paint, i had gc w/ illuminas but i painted the shocks flat black and it was slightly lowerd , purple tints dings and dents , under the hood i had a b16 w/ skunk stage 3 cams full valve train i/h/e etc.... i would catch people off gard every time...

A good *** sleeper would be the infamous light silvery/blue stripper Omni with a built *** GLHS motor and monster turbo. Keep the stock 13 in steelies, faded interior and minor rust. Blow out a window, add trash bag and then hit the strip. You'd smoke some fools.

The "sleeper" that I liked was the Pinto that was in Hot Rod about a year ago. The guy was buying complete turbo set-ups from the full size T-birds. Dirt cheap and fast.

this is a sleeper...

the Mitsubishi 4g63 motor swaps right in with little mods. if my father sold me his colt... i would be building that this summer. maybe i can still talk him into it. BTW: its a Dodge Colt wagon Vista...i think.

A sleeper is an ALL STOCK exterior that has a very powerful motor inside... none of this lowering/wheels/bling exhaust/ect...ect...ect... all stock appearance with **** loads of go under the hood...

also check this site out.... http://www.warrensweb.com/volvo/
just a taste.... lol
