Default a6 tranny on z6 motor

i have a crx si with an a6. i am going to swap it out with a z6 b/c i found an engine at a good price. can i use my a6 tranny on that z6 motor?

Yes you can and actually, you will have to use that tranny. That is what is going to allow you to bolt the Z6 motor into your car.

cool. as far as the swap goes, will i need additional harnesses besides what is given with the motor and ecu.

it's a complete swap with motor mounts and tranny. i'll use the tranny on my ex

Did you get the ecu as well? If so, then you should get an OBD0 to OBD1 wiring harness conversion (IM Blown90Hatch). He can also answer any questions you have about wiring using his harness.

It is the same type of harness, but not the same exact ones.

I believe you have to use a 90 and up clutch setup though

use an auto tranny ps9 ecu, buy some chips, look up the 1-wire vtec stuff, set all that up. save yourself the money on the obd1 ecu and harness swap(s).

then use turboedit or some obd0 editor to tune the maps for the Z6 and VTEC

that is a good idea, but i really don't know how to do this and i want to make the swap go as smooth as possible. but do i need to use a 90 and up clutch set-up though?
