power gains from a leight weight flywheel?
I'm just wondering.. I know it doesn't actually produce HP or torque..but it does free some up by putting less of a load on the motor.
anyway.. d16/y8 mini me is what I'm driving and I'm installing a zc/si hybrid tranny along with a stage 1 clutch and 11lb flyweel..any idea of what increase? #s or %?
Thanks

Probably free up like 1 hp ? its not the hp or torque but the flexibility of the rpm range is whats important. reving faster in accelaration and deccelaration
you get quicker revs. the flywheel weight is increased by centrifical force as it spins. the weight of any spinning object is increased as such. so yes it is more strain on the motor and spins slower than a lightened flywheel.

agreed. a good flywheel clutch setup can do wonders for how the car feels.
