Ok guys here's my situation:
I just bought a 92 dx hatch (bone stock) in black. i plan on redoing the whole car over two summers. i'm gonna go all motor.
in one summer i will do the:
exterior (rust has to be fixed, new coat of paint and tint the windows),
suspension (tein SS, and some kinds strut and sway bars)
brakes (haven't decided yet),
exhaust (probably a quiet one like greddy)
(i don't really care about the interior, but i'll upgrade my shitty front door 6.5speakers)
in the other summer i will do
a complete B18C5 swap,
JDM headers
competition clutch and flywheel

my problem is what to do this summer and what to do next year. I don't like having rust on the wheel wells in the rear so i wanna take care of that asap and it really could use a paint job BUT the engine right now has 231,000miles on it so i dont' know how long it will last (but it runs strong right now) and i hate not having any power, and i'll hate that even more when my car looks better than it does right now.

let me know what you guys think i should do first

get your body and motor done this summer. make sure you get you engine bay painted. it will make a way cleaner look for your motor.

then next summer worry about all the suspention brakes etc...

 

why not do it in winter when you can't use the car anyway
