real type r???
my friend is trying to buy this type R, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...sting but he thinks it might be a fake because it doesnt have the red emblem and he said he saw a pic of the gauge cluster and saw the redline at around 7500 (that pic is not in the ad). so he is not sure if it is the real deal or just a teg with a bunch of type r **** on it. any comments or input is appreciated. thanks.

Thats the image that has the tach on it.

i seen this on craigslist.org. its a salvage/theft recovery. he could have changed out the tack or the gauge cluster since he rebuilt it. 97 itrs i believed didnt have red A emblems. ask for the vin number to see if the chassis is really a itr. but the parts he used who knows engine code looks like b18c so either could be a gsr block with differnt head or a jdm itr block. hard to tell from the pics

The 8th digit, being a 1, indicates that it is indeed an ITR.

isn't the seller of that car the guy on these boards that specifically finds salvaged R's and rebuilds them? I don't know how he makes a profit off of it honestly, he must be getting that stuff cheap.

They do, but it isn't hard to change/remove an emblem.

Thanks for your insight but if you read the post, it has already been determined that the car is indeed an authentic Integra Type R.
