Anyone with 16x7.5" or 16x8" wheels on ITR?
I'm looking for any feedback from someone who has ran 16x7.5" or 8" rims on their ITR. Need to know what offset was the best and how much rubbing you got and how low the car was.
I will be running very stiff springrates so I'm not too worried about tons of wheeltravel, but I am more interested in rubbing and offset matters. Don't try to talk me into 16x7's, because it is not going to happen. Wider is better for my application, period.
Tires will more than likely be 215/45/16 or 225 of some type or another.
Thanks.

WTH did you search for?

But yeah, that was one of the threads I was looking for. Thanks.

When I rescued my show kaa 98, it had 18x8's on it, with JJ (stock, read +50)offset. With +3/4" and even +1-1/4" drop over stock, they still cleared stock bodywork and fender liners fully bottomed (driving conditions, but barely cleared by a c'hair), with only a tiny rub on the inside front wheel well at full lock. [edit] Very stiff spring rates.
However this was at +2 camber (washers rear, Skunk front), and a very rolled 225-35/18. A straighter profile sidewall and/or less camber w/225 will hit the front outer fender lip, and you will have to roll it.
Why you would want 8" is a mystery tho. Even at stock offset and with a camber kit, lowered with 8" causes seriously wack scrub radius and camber wear. This really affects total grip negatively. A camber kit will help, but even so, I found the handling was f'd, and the tail was way too sketchy and easy to slide... Oh wait, maybe you WANT to drift
.
I have 15x7's now and have tried 205's and 215's in 50 and 55 profile, and even with stock sus or just Lowdowns under hard driving, it's 50% more car. The limit is also reached more progressively, and with more notice before sliding. At least for me, for very hard street driving, wider did not equal better. Hope this helps.

todd is a (dare i say it?) somewhat competitive autoxer, so he'll need all the tiny advantages he can get at nationals.....
try hitting up rodney - he has been experimenting with my old intended setup - fd (rx7) wheels..... 16x8 +50 - although he's going with spacers for all around for rear suspension clearance, and in the front for wider track. 225's are fantastic on those wheels though. But he doesn't have an itr either.
I'd like to try the 15x8 +27 volks next.....

I hate explaning my reasoning in threads. All I need to know is what was the key offset for a 7.5" or 8", 16" rim.
It is looking like a ~+42 would be fine. It would keep me off of the control arms and still not interfere with the fender too bad. I can roll the fender to my heart's content, so I'm not worried about that too much.

i dont have an itr but i just recently fitted my gsr with some 215/45 azenis on 16x7.5 +40 offset wheels. eibach pro-kit suspension ~1.3" drop front and rear. stock camber.
It is a tight fit!
the rear rubbed so I took off the plastic lip liner and it seems to have solved the problem. i did not have to roll the lip.
the front appears to clear inside the wheel well at full lock. the outer side is very close... i may need to end up rolling it. I will prob need to test it more aggressively like at autox to know for sure. pro-kits are pretty soft, so if you have a more aggressive springrate i dont think it will be a problem.
I would suggest +42 offset 16x7.5 if you are plannin on running azenis and dont want to roll fenders. good luck!
