Default Got a dirt bike

I needed something to ride the single tracks on our local trails so I decided to buy a MX bike to compliment my ATC 200X 3 wheeler. I really wanted an XR400 or XR600 but the Retard (Motorrad) craze has driven the price of XR's beyond belief. A late 80's XR600 sells for $3k over here! ... wtf over??

Anyway here's a 1996 Suzuki RMX250R that I snagged for $800 off of Yahoo a couple days ago. I should have it next monday since it has to ride the Ferry from Osaka to Okinawa this weekend. Comes with a Chamber and silencer, new sprockets, RAD valve and some other knick knacks. I have already ordered black plastic (fenders, tanks, radiator shroud) for it and I will probably change the RAD valve to a V-force. One of my buddies is a Suzuki nut so I'll probably sell ot to him this summer so I can buy a CRF250 or XR400.

I'm in Japan where nothing is cheap! It cost $700 to ship a bike to my ROCK from the USA and I do not need the latest pro spec bike since I will be riding trails and/or wrecking on homemade tracks.

With the exception of being stickerless there is nothing wrong with the bike and it already has aftermarket parts installed. Oh yeah.. it has CR front shocks since the RMX shocks were not good for jumping.

nice ride. its always good to have a decent thrasher. besides most of the bikes in japan loom rugged....seems to be the trend over there. all the bike on yahoo auctions look that way.

btw
whats up with the swingarm in the road on that 2nd pic? talk about rugged mang!

Yeah, why is there a swing-arm in the middle of the road?

I have no idea about tha swingarm. I'll post better pics of the bike after it arrives tuesday. I'm bummed because I wanted to ride it this weekend.

I saw a $6k Mugen CRM250 demo bike on yahoo. I laughed my boinkers off when I saw that page.

For the curious:
Mugen ECU
Mugen ported cylinder
Mugen X Chamber and silencer
Mugen valved shocks f/r
rear carrier
brush guards
**comes with normal parts too**

Nice bike, that's a hell of a deal for 800 bucks. A 96 here in that condition goes for at least 1500. The thing looks to be in good shape. I have a 2002 RM125 with just about everything done to it that is possible. It's as fast if not faster than a stock 250 now and I love the bike. You should post some riding pics when you get it.

My 125 pulls on and passes my friends 97 KX250 from a 3rd gear roll.

It would whoop yours too.

If you lived closer, I'd make you go ride with me.
